After graduating with Masters degree in Theater Set & Costume Design at the Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno, Czech Republic, Sharka took a leap of faith and made the move to Australia, the land of never-ending horizon, red soil and an ancient rhythm of nature. Completing Master of Creative Industries at QUT and Jewellery and small objects course at QCA equipped her practice with an understanding of local creative and cultural domains.
Merging European classic influences with the ancient and rustic landscapes of Australia formed the basis of Sharka's practice. Creating wearable objects and installations to communicate, connect with other people, places and art forms, opening a dialogue. Sharka believes objects – touch – body – experience and visual storytelling can transcend languages.
