Creativity of Meenas, an exhibition all the way from India, celebrates the dying craft of Mandana painting by the Meena tribe of Rajasthan, India. Traditionally, the images are painted directly onto the clay walls and floors of kucha (mud houses) using brilliant white chalk and red ochre.

Woven, although inspired by the dying art of the Meenas, has a contextual alignment to Artisan, Fortitude Valley and the greater Brisbane. The intertwining, snake-like form, which employs various materials and fabrics, is representative of the connections between artist, audience and creation. findoutmore
