Julia deVille is originally from New Zealand but is now based in Melbourne where she trained in gold and silversmithing and also taxidermy.

Julia is fascinated with the aesthetic used to communicate mortality in the Memento Mori peroid of the fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries, as well as the methods the Victorians used to sentimentalise death with adornment.
